I am on vacation for the week. I tried getting mom on as an author, but didnt have time to show her how to post. Read the comments section of the posts, she is still putting updates in there.
Meg has a couple important appointments coming up. She is a little apprehensive because she is worried about traveling in her "state". She'll be fine, but we are all hoping for some significant progress this week and mom is forcing her to rest a little more.
I didn't have time to check in yesterday during the day and I have found that using the computer at 11pm isn't good. I was up till 2am Sat night. Thanks for your note Greg, I'm sure meg will see it if she hasn't already b/c I know for a fact she is still checking in on here due to getting a little grief on what I am typing at times. LOL Guess that although she has shed a lot of her inhibitions throughout this ..there are still certain things a girl doesn't want floating out in cyberspace. So I will try to be a little more SENSITIVE. Sometimes us "mothers" just can't do anything right!! But thats not really true..she has shown her appreciation very well to me through all this. Ok enough about me..now on to her update.
ReplyDeleteYesterday was a fair day and def a little more busy. We did make it to church but had to leave a little early b/c she couldn't get cooled down. I don't know why but any stressful situations mentally and/or physically seem to set off these major hot flashes for her. So we started the day by washing her hair,getting dressed by a specific time, up steps into church, lots of ppl with wishes for healing,coming home. So she was pretty wore out by that time. Then we hadn't taken her vitamins which she is trying to add back in along with the iron so we did them and lunch and I think the combination made her pretty queasy. Which continued to keep her heated up. She cooled down some though and was able to enjoy looking at her wedding pics with her Dad and Nancy. Then James and Kristen stopped down with the girls for a bit which she tolerated ok and even showed and intrest in Kristen's and the girls shopping trip. Kristen rubbed her feet while visiting and promised to come back once a week to do that for her. Which is good because I'm alot of things but a good foot rubber isn't one of my finer points.
But all in all it wasn't too bad of a day. She ate fair and drank 3 ensures, took a walk of 1 lap around top of drive. She did stay awake most of the day and her mouth continues to improve slowly with a slight decrease in the pain I think. She seemed to move with a little more ease and also to have a little more strength to care about normal stuff for her. So I think we are still on the upswing but it is alot slower than I thought it would be. I would say that she is at the place of where she was when she first got discharged from the hospital. I am hoping that today will be quite except for the nurse coming to do her thing and Faith is coming to annoint her and pray with us. I am hoping her phone stays quiet and she doesn't have any other visitors till this evening.
I am concerned with getting her strong enough to make the trip to Pittsburgh on wed so that it doesn't totally wipe her that day. Hopefully I can get her to do a little more long distance walking to get her strength back b/c she is so weak and can't do very much w/o tiring out.
It's time to wake her up and start the day so we will see what happens and hopefully when she reads this ..I have reported tactfully enough for her!
